Partial Cash on Delivery (Partial COD) Policy

This isn’t an easy update to share, but it’s one we’ve had to make after careful consideration.

At FAFO, every order is packed, quality-checked, and shipped with care. We genuinely appreciate every customer who chooses to support a small Indian brand like ours. Your trust is what keeps us going.

The vast majority of our customers are genuine, and we truly value the confidence they place in us. To continue providing reliable service, maintain fair pricing, and ensure a smooth shopping experience for everyone, we've had to make a few changes to how Cash on Delivery orders are handled.

Unfortunately, we've seen a growing number of orders being returned because they were refused at the time of delivery, customers became unreachable, or orders were placed without the intention of accepting them. Every such return results in significant shipping, packaging, and operational costs that small businesses like ours have to bear.

Transition to Partial COD

To continue offering the convenience of Cash on Delivery while reducing order cancellations and keeping our prices fair, Full Cash on Delivery (COD) has been discontinued.

Eligible orders can now be placed using Partial Cash on Delivery (Partial COD), where a small advance payment is collected at checkout and the remaining balance is payable upon delivery.

This change helps us continue offering a flexible payment option while reducing losses from unaccepted shipments.

1. How Partial COD Works

  • A partial advance payment is required while placing the order.
  • The remaining balance is payable to the courier partner at the time of delivery.
  • The advance payment is adjusted against the total order value and is not an additional charge.

2. Order Verification

To ensure a smooth delivery experience, we may contact you via WhatsApp, SMS, email, or phone call to verify your order or delivery details before dispatch.

Orders may be delayed or cancelled if:

  • We are unable to verify the order.
  • The contact details provided are incorrect or unreachable.
  • The delivery address is incomplete or appears invalid.

3. Delivery Attempts

Our courier partners make delivery attempts according to their service policy. Customers are requested to remain available to receive delivery calls and accept the shipment within the courier's delivery attempts.

4. Partial COD Advance

The Partial COD advance is a processing and shipping commitment amount.

The advance payment is non-refundable if the shipment is returned due to:

  • Refusal to accept the order.
  • Customer being unavailable during delivery attempts.
  • Incorrect or incomplete address or contact details.
  • Failure to respond to the courier during delivery attempts.
  • Any customer-related reason resulting in the shipment being returned (RTO).

5. Reshipment of Returned Orders

If you wish to receive a returned order, we will be happy to assist, subject to product availability.

For reshipment:

  • A fresh shipment will be created.
  • A new Partial COD advance and applicable shipping/COD handling charges may apply.
  • Reshipment will only be processed after the required payment is received.

6. Partial COD Eligibility

FAFO reserves the right to:

  • Offer or disable Partial COD for specific customers, addresses, products, or PIN codes.
  • Request prepaid payment for high-risk or repeat Return-to-Origin (RTO) orders.
  • Cancel orders that appear fraudulent, suspicious, or unverifiable.
